Garden created by Sir Alexander Seton in 1675. Elaborate floral designs in parterres of box edging, inspired by the garden at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, have been re-created by the Trust. Fountains and sundials make fine centrepieces to the garden, filled in summer with 40,000 annual flowers. Also herb garden, herbaceous borders, trained fruit, plant sales, museum of farming life, visitor centre, nature hut, woodland walk and wildlife garden.
